Looking for a new challenge? Suburban is looking for a Controls Technician to join the team, this position requires an excellent level of accuracy and the ability to achieve high-quality results. The ideal candidate must be willing to work independently to identify technical problems as well as establish relationships in a team setting. This position requires a high level of technical expertise within a fast-paced environment where decisions must be made in a timely and efficient manner.


  • Works independently to diagnose, install, troubleshoot, and repair manufacturing equipment, devices, and systems
  • Perform programming and troubleshooting of PLC’s, HMI’s, VFD’s, Motion Control Systems, Safety Systems, Instrumentation, and Process Controls
  • Strong communication skills needed to consult with customers, supervisors, or engineers to plan the layout of industrial equipment, devices, and to resolve problems
  • Ability to troubleshoot, install, maintain, repair, program, and specify for new installation or replacement of AC and DC drives
  • Demonstrate the ability to understand and apply NFPA70E to the equipment being worked on and the work environment
  • Study blueprints, schematics, manuals, or other specifications to determine installation or system modification procedures
  • Can recognize future opportunities or additional work. Brings this information to the supervisor or salesperson’s attention.
  • Use Allen Bradley software at a level to perform online troubleshooting, system modifications, and commissioning of manufacturing systems and components
  • Constantly growing and developing their career and skills to reach their highest potential


  • Industrial Maintenance Certificate or an Associate Degree in the Electromechanical Technology or related program
  • 5 years of experience in electrical maintenance position; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • State journeyman’s or master license is desirable
