The Role – Designer II

We’re looking for a talented and creative Designer II to join our innovative team! In this role, you’ll bring your design expertise to life, crafting visually compelling and user-centric solutions across various platforms. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality designs that align with brand vision and business goals. What You’ll Do

  • Support and lead team resource planning/scheduling to assure timely completion of projects.
  • Serve as a project team leader for an Electrical and special system Designers team.
  • Design within the department’s compliance with risk management.
  • Use and maintain design consideration item Design Guides.
  • Review design Revit, AutoCAD, or Bluebeam drawings from technicians to verify accuracy.
  • Consider green initiatives in the design process.
  • Instruct and provide technical assistance to the remainder of the Design team in the preparation of construction documents.

What You Bring (Required Experience)

  • Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; three (3) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in electrical design.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Familiar with AutoCAD and Bluebeam.
  • Basic proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of design techniques and processes involved in the production of electrical drawings, and models.
  • Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
  • Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce viable solutions.
  • Proven ability to efficiently manage multiple projects at the same time.
  • Able to identify and communicate potential installation clashes with other trades.
  • Able to read and understand submittals for physical equipment sizing and/or layout during modeling.
  • Possess knowledge of current NEC, IBC, IECC, and other pertinent national, state, and local design codes.
  • Knowledge of municipal permitting and licensing requirements.

Bonus Points For (Preferred Experience)

  • Proficient with Revit.
