SUMMARY

This role will be responsible for tracking Suburban Enterprises’ financial performance against a plan, analyzing business performance and market conditions to create forecasts, and helping senior management make tactical and strategic decisions by providing periodic reports.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE

  • Creates, distributes, and manages monthly and annual financial reporting and scorecards
  • Report on financial performance and prepare for regular leadership reviews
  • Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements
  • Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts
  • Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and dashboards
  • Increase productivity by developing automated reporting/forecasting tools
  • Conduct quantitative analyses of information affecting budgets, expenses, and other financial projects
  • Collect and analyze financial information for assigned accounts, products or product lines, or business units in order to track the organization’s progress against financial goals
  • Report current or expected financial performance and creates financial models to guide decision making.
  • Regular interaction with all areas of the business
  • Develop tracking method for metrics
  • Develops and provide executive team dashboards
  • Responsible for creating ad hoc reporting to address reporting needs of the organization and executive leadership team
  • Maintain databases and perform updates as necessary to ensure accuracy

 

PROFIT/LOSS

  • Analyze cash flow, expenditures, revenue, and investments to make recommendations for action and/or modifications regarding financial procedures, plans, and controls
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, or annual financial statements
  • Maintain and develop various financial models to support decision making by executive leadership, ensuring quality, accuracy and focused analytic review including:
    • Strategic Planning
    • Budgeting
    • Forecasting
    • Acquisitions
    • Operating Expense trends and analytics
    • Other
    • Identify and recommend improvements in processes

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 

  • Strong knowledge of finance policies, practices and systems
  • Detail oriented, organized, and efficient
  • Ability to multi-task, establish priorities
  • Strong software skills, especially Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
  • Tactful in their dealings with people using good customer service and interpersonal skills, communicating effectively with clients and managers
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or another related field
  • Minimum of three (3) years accounting, finance, finance analytics or similar experience
  • Strong analytical and data gathering skills
  • Proficient in Excel, familiarity with data query/data management tools is extremely helpful
  • Good business acumen

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
