The Role – Safety Specialist
In this role, you will assist with implementing, coordinating, and administering all Safety programs and setting the policies as they apply to team member relations, compensation, benefits, safety, performance, and compliance. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: data entry, managing files and other organizational tasks. You will work closely with management, supervisors, and team members.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Plan, implement, manage, and maintain comprehensive safety and health programs with an emphasis on positive safety culture.
  • Support continuous improvement in loss control through the development of robust safety programs, systems and practices.
  • Ensure all sites are in compliance through regular internal program assessments and monitoring to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements and all site policies to ensure regulatory inspection and./or audit ready preparedness.
  • Ensure that the company complies and adheres to OSHA guidelines to reduce work-related injuries through tracking and monitoring workplace injuries and logs.
  • Responsible for the safety training schedule of all new team members and recurring training for existing team members.
  • Support and guide site team members, especially supervisors and middle managers to build strong health and safety leadership skills.

What You Bring (Required Experience)

  • Associate degree in Occupational Safety & Health or related degree.
  • 2 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • OSHA 30 certification required (or must obtain within first 6 months of employment).
  • Certified in CPR/First Aid required (or must obtain certification within first 6 months of employment).
  • This position requires the team member to drive a company vehicle. The team member must possess a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record that allows the company to ensure such individuals are under the company’s insurance policies. The team members must also carry auto liability insurance. The team member will be subject to the Company’s policy concerning company vehicles.

Bonus Points For (Preferred Experience)

  • OSHA 502 training certification preferred.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and enforce safety programs and protocols.
  • Skill in performing safety inspections and ensuring compliance with OSHA safety standards
