The Role – Warehouse Coordinator

The Warehouse Coordinator will coordinate the activities and operations of the warehouse.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Manage warehouse inventory and maintains database:
    • Coordinate incoming and outgoing material deliveries.
    • Sort material according to established procedures.
    • Mark material with identifying information.
    • Track and manage material.
    • Provide regular material reports to team members.
    • Receive and verify accuracy of incoming material.
    • Inspect and ensure the quality of incoming material.
    • Resolve any discrepancies between paperwork and material received.
    • Picks and readies material inventory for shipment
  • Coordinates and schedules the movement of products throughout the warehouse including storage and shipment of finished products:
    • May have delivery drivers directly report to them.
    • Assign delivery/pickup stations.
    • Oversee and assist with the loading and unloading of deliveries.
    • Allocate and organize storage locations according to requirements.
    • Update and maintain storage database.
    • Pick and prepare orders to be shipped.
    • Ensure proper packaging and labeling of shipments.
    • Ensure shipping counts match the order documents.
    • Process and provide the necessary paperwork for shipments.
    • Assist Purchasing with material inventory in the warehouse
  • Implements daily production and shipping plan, arranging for excess stock to be stored in warehouse:
    • Coordinate delivery sequence according to orders and balancing weight for the appropriate delivery vehicle.
    • Assist purchasing with customer returns.
    • Ensure accuracy of shipping and receiving documents.
    • Enter all information into the system for deliveries and shipments.
    • Maintain all records/logs relative to shipping and receiving.
    • Coordinates and schedules the movement of material throughout the warehouse including storage and shipment of finished products.
  • Manages daily flow of finished products by modifying storage space assignments.
  • Confirms availability of items to be shipped by verifying inventory records or conducting inventories of required items.
  • Identifies and reports slow-moving product and with approval, arranges for the removal of the product.
  • Directs forklift drivers to store goods in identified areas.
  • Manually handles, repacks, or restacks pallets of finished product as needed.
  • Operates forklift truck as needed.
  • Documents all related activities and completes forms and reports.
  • Adhere to all safety standards and operating procedures.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all housekeeping and warehouse standards.
  • Assist operations and fabrication in shipping/receiving of their finished products.
  • May assist operations in managing storage/shipments of products for large jobs.
  • Performs other related duties as directed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of or ability to quickly learn company product codes and terminology.
  • Thorough understanding of warehouse policies and procedures.
  • Good analytical skills and ability to make sound judgments relative to inventory.
  • Organizing and planning skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Sense of urgency.

 

What You Bring (Required Experience)

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid state motor vehicle operator’s license for forklift truck required.
  • Proficiency in relevant computer applications including MS Word and Excel.
  • Familiar with inventory scanner systems.
  • Able to safely use warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.

 

Bonus Points For (Preferred Experience)

  • At least two (2) years of work experience in a warehouse preferred.
  • Familiar with warehouse management system (WMS) technology.
